Description

Learn how to make crispy and flavorful Taco Bell Nacho Fries at home, complete with a creamy nacho cheese sauce. This easy recipe will satisfy your fast-food cravings without leaving the house.

Ingredients

Scale

For the fries:

  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the nacho cheese sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fries: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry. Toss with olive oil and seasonings. Bake for 20 minutes, flip, then bake for 15-20 more minutes.
  2. Make the Cheese Sauce: Melt butter, whisk in flour, then gradually add milk. Cook until thickened, then stir in cheese and seasonings until melted.
  3. Serve: Enjoy the hot fries with the cheese sauce on the side or drizzled on top.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, air fry the fries at 400°F for 18-20 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  • Add jalapeños or seasoned beef for a loaded version.
  • You can double the cheese sauce and store extras in the fridge for up to 3 days.
