Description

This Sweet Condensed Milk Bread recipe is a delightful twist on traditional bread, incorporating the rich sweetness of condensed milk. The result is a soft and flavorful loaf that is perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

For Greasing:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sweetened condensed milk, egg, and softened butter. Add the yeast mixture and stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead and Rise: Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape and Bake: Punch down the dough, shape it into a log, and place it in a greased loaf pan. Let rise again for 30–45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the bread for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Cool before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, brush the top with sweetened condensed milk after baking.
  • You can also use bread flour for a chewier texture.
