Description

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with these delightful and festive cake pops made from moist vanilla cake, creamy frosting, and coated in white chocolate with green decorations. Perfect for parties, these easy-to-make treats combine colorful flair with delicious flavor for a fun holiday dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Cake Base

  • 1 box white or vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup prepared vanilla or cream cheese frosting

Coating and Decorations

  • 12 oz white chocolate or vanilla candy melts
  • Green candy melts (for decorating)
  • Green sprinkles or edible glitter
  • Lollipop sticks

Instructions

  1. Bake the Cake: Preheat oven according to cake mix directions. Prepare the cake batter as per the package instructions and bake it in a 9×13-inch pan. Allow cake to cool completely before moving to the next step.
  2. Form Cake Balls: Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs inside a large bowl. Add the prepared frosting and mix thoroughly until the mixture reaches a dough-like consistency. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours or freeze for 20 to 30 minutes until firm.
  3. Prepare Cake Pops: Melt the white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl following the package instructions. Dip the tip of each lollipop stick into the melted coating, then carefully insert it halfway into each chilled cake ball. Let the candy coating set for a few minutes to anchor the stick securely.
  4. Coat and Decorate: Dip each cake pop into the melted white candy coating, gently tapping off any excess to avoid dripping. While the coating is still wet, drizzle with melted green candy melts and sprinkle with green sprinkles or edible glitter for a festive appearance. Place the pops upright in a foam block or stand and allow them to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.

Notes

  • For an extra festive touch, add a few drops of green food coloring to the cake batter before baking.
  • These cake pops can be prepared 1 to 2 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
