Scale
Primary Ingredients
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or non-fat)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (natural or regular)
- 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup, agave, or your favorite sweetener)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
Optional Ingredients
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- Additional chocolate chips, peanut butter drizzle, or chopped nuts for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, peanut butter, honey, vanilla extract, chocolate chips (if using), and a pinch of sea salt to create a smooth, flavorful base.
- Mix: Gently stir the ingredients together until well combined, ensuring the mixture is uniform in texture and taste. Adjust the sweetness or peanut butter flavor according to your preference by adding more honey or peanut butter.
- Prepare for Freezing: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease a mini muffin tin to prevent sticking when freezing the bites.
- Shape: Spoon or pour the yogurt mixture into individual portions on the prepared baking sheet or into each cup of the mini muffin tin, making sure the portions are evenly sized.
- Add Toppings (Optional): Sprinkle extra chocolate chips, drizzle peanut butter, or add chopped nuts on top of each portion for added texture and flavor if desired.
- Freeze: Transfer the baking sheet or muffin tin carefully to the freezer and freeze the bites for at least 2–3 hours or until completely solid.
- Store: Once frozen, remove the bites from the sheet or muffin tin and transfer them to a freezer-safe container or bag. Store in the freezer for up to 2–3 months to maintain freshness.
Notes
- Use plain Greek yogurt to avoid added sugars and flavors, especially if making for dogs.
- Choose natural peanut butter without added salt or sugar for a healthier option.
- Adjust the sweetness by switching honey with maple syrup or agave according to preference or dietary needs.
- Optional chocolate chips should be used sparingly if serving to dogs — consider leaving them out or using dog-safe alternatives.
- To easily remove bites from the tray or muffin tin, let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before transferring.
- These bites are best served frozen for a refreshing treat, especially in warm weather.
