Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • ½ cup sour cream

Additional:

  • 1 cup diced fresh or canned peaches (drained if using canned)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for tossing peaches)
  • Optional glaze: ½ cup powdered sugar, 1–2 tablespoons peach juice or milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream the butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add wet ingredients: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla and almond extract. Mix in the sour cream until smooth.
  5. Prepare peaches: Toss the diced peaches with 1 tablespoon flour, then gently fold them into the batter.
  6. Combine ingredients: Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
  7. Bake: Bake for 55–65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and glaze: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and peach juice or milk, then drizzle over the loaf before serving.
