Description

This One-Pot Ground Beef Stroganoff Recipe is a comforting and satisfying meal that comes together quickly in just one pot. Creamy, savory, and loaded with tender egg noodles, this dish is perfect for a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Ground Beef Stroganoff Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups uncooked egg noodles
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet or pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: Add onion, garlic, and mushrooms. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until vegetables are softened.
  3. Add Flour and Broth: Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring to avoid lumps.
  4. Season and Cook Noodles: Add Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and egg noodles. Bring to a boil, then simmer, covered, for 8–10 minutes until noodles are tender.
  5. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and stir in sour cream until creamy. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra richness, add a splash of heavy cream with the sour cream.
  • You can use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version.
  • This recipe is best with wide egg noodles.
