Description

Delight in these classic Magic Cookie Bars featuring a buttery graham cracker crust layered with sweetened condensed milk, semisweet chocolate, coconut flakes, and chopped nuts baked to golden perfection. Perfect for a quick and easy dessert that yields plenty to share.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup melted butter

Toppings

  • 1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 ⅓ cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare Graham Cracker Crust: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter until the mixture is evenly blended. Press this mixture firmly onto the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to create an even crust layer.
  2. Add Toppings: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the graham cracker crust. Then sprinkle the semisweet chocolate morsels, flaked coconut, and chopped nuts evenly on top to create a layered effect.
  3. Press Toppings and Bake: Using a fork, gently press the toppings down to ensure they stick to the crust. Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25 minutes or until the top is lightly browned and set.
  4. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cool, cut into 36 bars or diamond shapes, then serve and enjoy this rich, sweet treat!

Notes

  • Pressing the toppings helps prevent them from sliding off when cutting and serving.
  • You can substitute walnuts, pecans, or almonds for the chopped nuts according to preference.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • For easier cutting, chill the bars before slicing.
  • Using sweetened condensed milk is key for the creamy texture and sweetness.
