- 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar. Stir until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, whisk until fully incorporated.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually stir dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Fold in pecans if using.
- Bake: Spread batter in pan and bake for 28-32 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool and serve: Cool completely before cutting into squares. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
