For the Patties:
- 1½ pounds ground beef (80/20)
- ¼ cup teriyaki sauce
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
For Serving:
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 burger buns
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Red onion slices
- Pickles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, teriyaki sauce, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Divide into 4 portions and form into patties.
- Cook the Patties: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4 to 5 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Add a slice of American cheese on each patty in the last minute to melt.
- Assemble the Burgers: Toast the buns, then spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom halves. Layer with lettuce, tomato, the cheesy patty, red onion, and pickles if desired. Top with the bun and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, brush patties with more teriyaki sauce while grilling.
