Jalapeno Fries:

  • 10 large jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • ranch or chipotle dip for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut the jalapenos: Halve and seed the jalapeños, then cut into thin strips.
  2. Prepare coating: In three separate dishes, place flour mixture, beaten eggs, and panko-Parmesan mixture.
  3. Coat jalapenos: Dredge jalapeno strips in flour, then egg, and finally panko-Parmesan mixture.
  4. Fry: Fry coated jalapenos in hot oil until golden and crispy.
  5. Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dip.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, bake the coated jalapeño fries at 425°F for 12-15 minutes.
  • Adjust heat by leaving some jalapeno seeds in.
