Jalapeno Fries:
- 10 large jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- vegetable oil for frying
- ranch or chipotle dip for serving
Instructions
- Cut the jalapenos: Halve and seed the jalapeños, then cut into thin strips.
- Prepare coating: In three separate dishes, place flour mixture, beaten eggs, and panko-Parmesan mixture.
- Coat jalapenos: Dredge jalapeno strips in flour, then egg, and finally panko-Parmesan mixture.
- Fry: Fry coated jalapenos in hot oil until golden and crispy.
- Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dip.
Notes
- For a lighter version, bake the coated jalapeño fries at 425°F for 12-15 minutes.
- Adjust heat by leaving some jalapeno seeds in.
