Description
These Honey Glazed Carrots are a delightful side dish that pairs perfectly with any meal. Tender carrots are coated in a sweet and savory glaze, creating a dish that is as beautiful as it is delicious.
Ingredients
Scale
Carrots:
- 1 ½ pounds carrots (peeled and cut into ½-inch slices or baby carrots)
Glaze:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Garnish:
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil the Carrots: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the carrots and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until just tender. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Glaze: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the honey and brown sugar, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until bubbly.
- Glaze the Carrots: Add the cooked carrots to the skillet and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the carrots are glazed and slightly caramelized.
- Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can roast the carrots instead of boiling for a deeper flavor—toss in the honey mixture and roast at 400°F for 25 minutes.
- For added zest, stir in a splash of orange juice or a pinch of cinnamon.
