Description

Honey Glazed Carrots are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish featuring tender carrots coated in a sweet honey and buttery glaze, enhanced with a touch of cinnamon and fresh parsley. Perfect for holiday meals or everyday dinners, this recipe offers a naturally sweet and flavorful way to enjoy carrots.

Ingredients

Scale

Carrots

  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds

Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Boil the Carrots: Place the peeled and cut carrots in a medium saucepan and cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until the carrots are tender but still slightly firm.
  2. Drain the Carrots: Drain the carrots well and return them to the saucepan to prepare for glazing.
  3. Glaze the Carrots: Add the unsalted butter, honey, salt, black pepper, and cinnamon if using to the saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, for 3 to 5 minutes until the carrots are evenly coated with the glossy honey butter glaze.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Transfer the glazed carrots to a serving dish and sprinkle with the chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor. Serve warm to enjoy the full taste of the glaze.

Notes

  • Baby carrots can be used for a quicker preparation.
  • Adjust the amount of honey if you prefer a sweeter glaze.
  • Omit the cinnamon for a simpler buttery flavor.
  • These glazed carrots pair well with roasted meats or holiday meals.
