  • 4 cups dashi broth

Miso Soup Base:

  • 3 tablespoons white miso paste

  • 1/2 block (7 ounces) firm tofu, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup wakame seaweed, rehydrated
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Broth: In a medium saucepan, bring the dashi broth to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Mix the Miso: Place the miso paste in a small bowl and whisk with a few tablespoons of the warm broth until smooth, then stir it back into the pot.
  3. Add Ingredients: Add the cubed tofu and wakame seaweed to the soup. Simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes, being careful not to boil once the miso has been added.
  4. Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust with soy sauce if needed.
  5. Serve: Remove from heat, ladle into bowls, and top with sliced green onions before serving.
