Instructions
- Prepare the Macaron Shells: Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Pulse almond flour and powdered sugar, sift into a bowl. Beat egg whites until foamy, add cream of tartar, beat to stiff peaks. Add sugar, coloring, extract, fold in flour mixture.
- Bake the Macarons: Pipe heart shapes onto parchment, tap to remove air bubbles. Let sit, bake at 300°F for 15-17 minutes. Cool completely.
- Make the Filling: Beat butter, add powdered sugar, cream, salt, and extract. Pipe onto shells, sandwich.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for 24 hours before serving for best texture.
