Description

Delight your loved ones with these adorable Heart-Shaped Macarons, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion. These gluten-free treats are not only visually appealing but also deliciously light and airy.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Macaron Shells:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 large egg whites at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Gel food coloring (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Macaron Shells: Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Pulse almond flour and powdered sugar, sift into a bowl. Beat egg whites until foamy, add cream of tartar, beat to stiff peaks. Add sugar, coloring, extract, fold in flour mixture.
  2. Bake the Macarons: Pipe heart shapes onto parchment, tap to remove air bubbles. Let sit, bake at 300°F for 15-17 minutes. Cool completely.
  3. Make the Filling: Beat butter, add powdered sugar, cream, salt, and extract. Pipe onto shells, sandwich.
  4. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for 24 hours before serving for best texture.

Notes
