Description

These Garlic Fries are a flavorful twist on the classic side dish. Crispy oven-baked fries are tossed with fragrant sautéed garlic, fresh parsley, and optional Parmesan cheese for a delicious and aromatic treat.

Potatoes:

  • 2 large russet potatoes, cut into thin fries

Seasoning:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Bake: Spread the fries out in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  4. Sauté garlic: While the fries are baking, gently sauté the minced garlic in a small skillet with 1 teaspoon of olive oil over low heat until just fragrant, about 1–2 minutes.
  5. Combine: Once fries are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Toss immediately with the sautéed garlic, fresh parsley, and Parmesan cheese if using.
  6. Serve: Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes before baking, then dry thoroughly.
  • You can also air fry at 400°F for 20–25 minutes.
