Description

Crispy oven-baked garlic fries tossed in fragrant garlic and fresh parsley oil, seasoned to perfection. This easy-to-make side dish combines golden-brown fries with aromatic garlic for a flavorful treat that’s perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale

Fries

  • 28 ounce (794 g) bag of frozen french fries
  • 1/8 cup (30 ml) vegetable oil, divided

Garlic Oil & Seasoning

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 handful fresh parsley, finely minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1/8 cup (29 ml) vegetable oil, remaining portion

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450 °F (232 °C) and spray two baking sheets with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Coat the Fries: In a large bowl, add the frozen french fries. Drizzle half of the vegetable oil (about 1/8 cup) over the fries and toss well to coat evenly.
  3. Bake the Fries: Divide the fries evenly between the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the fries begin to brown and turn tender.
  4. Increase Oven Temperature: After the initial 10 minutes of baking, raise the oven temperature to 500 °F (260 °C) and continue baking for another 7-10 minutes, until the fries are crisp and deeply golden brown.
  5. Prepare Garlic Oil: While the fries are baking, combine the remaining vegetable oil (about 1/8 cup), minced garlic, and minced fresh parsley in a bowl. Mix thoroughly to distribute the flavors.
  6. Toss with Garlic Oil: Once the fries are cooked, immediately transfer them to the bowl with the garlic oil using tongs. Toss the fries until they are well coated with the fragrant oil and herbs.
  7. Season and Serve: Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the garlic fries hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use a convection oven if available.
  • You can substitute fresh parsley with dried parsley if fresh is not available, but reduce the quantity to about 1 tablespoon.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic according to your preference for a milder or stronger garlic flavor.
  • These fries are best enjoyed fresh and hot but can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the oven.
