Description

Delicious and easy-to-make fruit tacos featuring cinnamon-sugar coated tortillas filled with fresh mixed fruit and creamy whipped topping, perfect for a light dessert or a refreshing snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Taco Shells

  • 4 small flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Filling

  • 1/2 cup whipped cream or vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup diced mixed fruit (such as strawberries, mango, kiwi, blueberries, pineapple)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Tortillas: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush both sides of the tortillas with melted butter. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar together, then sprinkle this mixture evenly over both sides of each tortilla.
  2. Shape and Bake Shells: Drape each tortilla over two bars of the oven rack to form a taco shape. Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden and crispy. Carefully remove them from the oven and let cool completely.
  3. Prepare Fruit Filling: While the shells cool, mix the diced mixed fruit in a bowl. If desired, drizzle with honey or agave syrup to add extra sweetness and stir gently to combine.
  4. Assemble Tacos: Fill each cooled taco shell with a spoonful of whipped cream or vanilla Greek yogurt. Top generously with the prepared fresh fruit mixture.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish each taco with fresh mint leaves if using, and serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought mini dessert taco shells for added convenience.
  • For extra crunch and texture, sprinkle granola or chopped nuts over the fruit filling.
  • These fruit tacos make a delightful option for brunch, a sweet dessert, or a fun, healthy snack for kids.
