Description

Express Tiramisu Balls are a quick and easy no-bake dessert that captures the classic flavors of tiramisu in a convenient bite-sized form. With a creamy mascarpone and espresso-infused mixture coated in rich cocoa powder, these 20 pieces of indulgent treats are perfect for parties or a delightful snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 400g ladyfingers
  • 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, high-quality (for coating)

Wet Ingredients

  • 300g mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 130ml cold espresso, freshly made and cooled

Instructions

  1. Crush Ladyfingers: Finely crush the ladyfingers in a large bowl using your hands or a food processor until the texture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add the powdered sugar to the crushed ladyfingers followed by the room temperature mascarpone and cold espresso. Start mixing gently, then increase the speed to achieve a smooth, firm mixture that holds its shape.
  3. Shape the Balls: Scoop about one tablespoon of the mixture and roll it between your palms into 3 to 4 cm (1 to 1.5 inch) balls. If the mixture is sticky, wet your palms lightly with cold water to make rolling easier.
  4. Coat with Cocoa Powder: Pour cocoa powder into a shallow dish. Roll each tiramisu ball in the cocoa powder until fully coated, then shake off any excess. Place on a serving plate and refrigerate if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly made espresso for the best flavor; pre-made coffee may alter the taste.
  • Ensure mascarpone is at room temperature so it blends smoothly and prevents lumps.
  • If the mixture feels too soft or wet, chill it for 15-20 minutes to firm up before rolling.
  • These tiramisu balls can be stored covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • For a boozy twist, add a tablespoon of coffee liqueur or rum to the mixture.
