Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Sauce
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken.
- Season Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. While the oil heats, season both sides of the chicken breasts evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Sear Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the skillet and sear each side for 4-5 minutes until they develop a nice golden-brown crust. Once seared, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare Sauce: In the same skillet, add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, chicken broth, and ranch seasoning mix. Stir continuously until the cream cheese melts and the mixture becomes a smooth and creamy sauce.
- Coat Chicken with Sauce: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the ranch sauce over them to coat thoroughly.
- Bake Chicken: Transfer the entire skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), ensuring it is fully cooked and tender.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven, garnish the creamy ranch chicken with freshly chopped parsley, and serve it hot with your preferred sides.
Notes
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened to make stirring easier and to achieve a creamy sauce.
- You can substitute the sour cream with Greek yogurt for a slightly tangier flavor.
- Using a cast-iron or ovenproof skillet allows seamless transfer from stove to oven.
- Check chicken temperature with a meat thermometer for safe consumption.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
