Description

Delight in these fun and easy Chocolate-Peanut Butter Covered Fortune Cookies, perfect for parties, gifts, or a sweet treat. Featuring a crisp fortune cookie dipped in smooth melted semi-sweet chocolate and creamy peanut butter coating, then topped with crunchy peanuts or sprinkles, this no-bake recipe comes together quickly and offers a satisfying blend of textures and flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Fortune Cookies

  • 12 plain fortune cookies

Chocolate Coating

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil

Peanut Butter Coating

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil

Toppings (Optional)

  • Crushed peanuts
  • Sprinkles
  • Mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking and to make cleanup easy.
  2. Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semi-sweet chocolate chips with half a tablespoon of coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  3. Melt Peanut Butter Chips: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, combine peanut butter chips with the remaining half tablespoon of coconut oil. Microwave using the same 30-second interval method, stirring until smooth and melted.
  4. Dip in Chocolate: Holding each fortune cookie by the ends, dip half of it into the melted chocolate coating. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off, then place the cookie on the prepared baking sheet. Let the chocolate set for a few minutes until it begins to firm up.
  5. Dip in Peanut Butter Coating: Once the chocolate has slightly hardened, dip the remaining half of the fortune cookie into the melted peanut butter coating. While still wet, sprinkle with crushed peanuts, sprinkles, or mini chocolate chips if desired.
  6. Chill to Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes to allow the coatings to fully set and firm up.
  7. Store Properly: Once set, store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • For a different twist, use white chocolate or dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
  • These cookies make excellent edible gifts or party favors that everyone will enjoy.
  • Ensure the fortune cookies are completely dry before dipping to help the chocolate and peanut butter coatings adhere properly.
