Description

Delight in these festive Chocolate-Dipped Easter Rice Krispie Treats, a no-bake, kid-friendly dessert perfect for spring celebrations. Crispy cereal bars coated in melted marshmallows are dipped in rich chocolate and decorated with pastel sprinkles for a fun and colorful treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup semi-sweet or white chocolate chips (for dipping)

Decorations

  • Pastel sprinkles or crushed candy (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and help with easy removal of the treats.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until the mixture is fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat, then stir in vanilla extract if using.
  3. Combine with Cereal: Immediately fold the Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture until all the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan. Use a greased spatula or a piece of wax paper to firmly press the mixture evenly into the pan. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes to set.
  5. Cut Treats: Once cooled, cut the Rice Krispie slab into rectangles or use cookie cutters to create festive Easter shapes.
  6. Melt Chocolate: Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  7. Dip and Decorate: Dip each Rice Krispie treat halfway into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off. Place them on a parchment-lined tray and immediately decorate with pastel sprinkles or crushed candy.
  8. Set Chocolate: Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra pop of color, tint white chocolate with pastel food coloring before dipping.
  • Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain freshness for up to 3 days.
