Description

These Cheesy Garlic Cruffins are a delightful savory treat combining flaky crescent roll dough filled with a blend of mozzarella, Parmesan, and garlic. Baked to golden perfection, these easy-to-make muffins make a perfect appetizer or snack, bursting with rich cheesy flavor and aromatic herbs.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough and Butter

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry sheet
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Cheese and Seasonings

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare muffin tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the dough: On a lightly floured surface, unroll the crescent roll dough and press the seams together carefully to form one large rectangular sheet.
  3. Add butter and toppings: Brush the dough evenly with the melted butter, then sprinkle the minced garlic, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and salt evenly over the surface.
  4. Roll and slice the dough: Roll the dough tightly into a log starting from the short side. Then, slice this log lengthwise in half to expose the layers of cheese and garlic.
  5. Shape the cruffins: Twist each half into a tight spiral and coil the spiral into each muffin cup, keeping the cut side facing up. Repeat this for all dough sections.
  6. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 15–18 minutes until the cruffins are puffed up and golden brown.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow the cruffins to cool for about 5 minutes before removing them from the muffin tin. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Serve these cruffins fresh out of the oven for the best flavor and texture.
  • You can reheat leftover cruffins in a toaster oven to regain crispiness.
  • For an extra cheesy variation, add sharp cheddar or fontina cheese to the filling mixture.
