Description

This creamy Boursin Chicken recipe features tender chicken breasts cooked in a rich garlic and herb cheese sauce made with Boursin cheese, heavy cream, and chicken broth. It’s an easy stovetop meal perfect for weeknight dinners, boasting comforting French-inspired flavors that pair beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 (5.2 oz) package Boursin cheese (Garlic & Fine Herbs)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Garnish

  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper to enhance flavor.
  2. Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, warm the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat until the butter melts and sizzles.
  3. Sear the Chicken: Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and almost fully cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté Garlic: Lower the heat to medium, add the minced garlic to the skillet, and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  5. Deglaze the Pan: Pour in the chicken broth, stirring and scraping the bottom of the pan to release browned bits, which add depth of flavor to the sauce.
  6. Add Cheese and Cream: Stir in the Boursin cheese and heavy cream, whisking continuously until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and heated through.
  7. Simmer with Chicken: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, cover, and simmer on low heat for 6–8 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Optionally sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the dish for color and freshness. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • This dish pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes, steamed rice, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  • For variation, substitute the Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs with Boursin Pepper or Shallot & Chive flavors.
  • Ensure not to overcook the chicken to keep it juicy and tender.
  • Use low-sodium chicken broth if you prefer a less salty sauce.
