Description

These Big Mac Hot Dogs combine the nostalgic flavors of the classic Big Mac burger with the convenience and fun of a grilled hot dog. Topped with shredded lettuce, diced pickles, cheddar cheese, onions, and a homemade Big Mac sauce, these hot dogs make a perfect summer grilling dish that’s both kid-friendly and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Hot Dogs and Toppings

  • 8 beef hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 1/2 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Big Mac Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth. Set the sauce aside or refrigerate it until ready to use.
  2. Cook the Hot Dogs: Grill or pan-cook the beef hot dogs over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure they are heated through and slightly charred on all sides.
  3. Toast the Buns: While the hot dogs are cooking, lightly toast the hot dog buns to add texture and flavor. For extra flavor, you can brush the buns with melted butter and toast them on a skillet.
  4. Assemble the Hot Dogs: Place each cooked hot dog into a toasted bun. Top generously with shredded iceberg lettuce, diced pickles, shredded cheddar cheese, and finely diced onions.
  5. Add the Big Mac Sauce and Garnish: Drizzle each hot dog liberally with the prepared Big Mac sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor and crunch, brush the inside of the buns with melted butter before toasting.
  • The Big Mac sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to save time.
  • Feel free to customize toppings to your taste by adding tomatoes or extra pickles.
  • Use high-quality beef hot dogs for the best flavor.
