  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 3 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil: In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook ground beef: Until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-6 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add peppers and onion: Cook for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Stir in garlic: Cook for another minute.
  5. Make the sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Pour over beef and vegetables.
  6. Finish and serve: Cook for 1-2 more minutes until heated through. Serve over warm rice, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
