These Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy, and bursting with sweet banana flavor and rich chocolate chips. Perfect for a delicious treat any time of day!

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the mashed banana, egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
  4. Add chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  6. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use an extra ripe banana for the best flavor and texture.
  • For a chewier cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • You can also add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.
