Pasta:
- 12 oz pasta (linguine or spaghetti)
Asparagus:
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
Other:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil a pot of salted water and cook the pasta. Add asparagus for the last 2–3 minutes. Reserve pasta water, then drain.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a skillet, sauté garlic in olive oil. Add lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix in pasta, asparagus, and reserved water.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan. Garnish with parsley and extra cheese if desired.
