Ingredients
Tofu:
14 ounces firm tofu drained and pressed,
Cornstarch Coating:
3 tablespoons cornstarch,
Vegetable Oil:
1 tablespoon,
Dashi Broth:
1 cup (or substitute vegetable broth),
Sauce:
2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons mirin, 1 teaspoon sugar,
Garnish:
2 green onions thinly sliced, 2 tablespoons grated daikon radish (optional), 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger, bonito flakes or nori strips for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cut and Coat Tofu: Cut tofu into cubes, coat with cornstarch.
- Air Fry: Preheat air fryer, cook tofu until golden and crispy.
- Prepare Sauce: Simmer broth, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar.
- Serve: Place tofu in bowls, pour sauce, garnish, and serve.
Notes
- For a vegan version, use vegetable broth and omit bonito flakes.
- The tofu can be pressed ahead of time and stored in the fridge until ready to cook.
- Adjust soy sauce for saltiness as needed.
